ABORTION PILL (2-10 WEEKS)

The abortion pill process involves two medications. The first medication you’ll take with the doctor is Mifepristone, which stops the pregnancy from growing. The second medication is Misoprostol, which will be taken 16 to 24 hours after the Mifepristone. This method has a high success rate in early pregnancies.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TAKING THE ABORTION PILL

There will be discomfort similar to that of a miscarriage. As always, our physician will conduct a prior examination and testing to make sure that this method is best for your health and your stage of pregnancy.

When it comes to same-day abortions, state laws vary throughout the country. Many states, 26 in fact, require at least 24 hours to elapse between the counseling session and the abortion.

In New Mexico, patients are not required to wait 24 hours for the abortion procedure. Also, the state of New Mexico does not have any abortion restrictions regarding mandating parental involvement or limits on publicly funded abortions.
